Game feels super great to play

Nice game, wasn't as hard as it seemed to get the times for true ending item

Got the true ending! :D

Very fun game. There was a lot more content than I expected going in😅

@Ferociter - what platform did you use to make this game? I am an aspiring game dev and this would help a lot. Thanks!

Hi! I made this one in GameMaker Studio. Nowadays, I use GameMaker Studio 2 for my projects. I'd recommend it for 2D games, and there's a free version iirc.

Thank you!

no.

this is wrong.

stop this immediately.

WOW. easily one of the best platformers on here. Reminds me a ton of Cataractae. The level design is just crazy, always changing it up and asking you to really master these simple mechanics. Absolute blast and finishing it felt like a real achievement

Edit: oh... you also made Cataractae lol!

What is the difference in the true ending cuz it says I got the (True ending!)

(SPOILER ALERT)

The true ending is when you use the warp doors to go to the extradimensional space with the warps to the green speedrun things, and get good enough times to unlock the purple powerup thingy. Then, when you go to games end at the top of the tower, you will get that cutscene. The standard ending is when you don't get the ??? powerup. You get a different cutscene at the end, basically.

Amazing game

I really loved this game. Great job and music I idk how to express it right, it was excellent.

Side note/question - What is the color of the main characters hair? And is fanart allowed if the creator credited? Maybe consider to make a fanart if it's allowed and I won't be lazy.

Of course, fanart is always appreciated! The main character's hair colour is still a mystery though.

Thanks.

Hi, I really like your game, and as a game dev myself, who is currently not working on any projects I was wondering if I could have the source code for amidst the sky, to work on an unofficial sequel?

there is an official sequel currently in progress

Man, I love this game. Really great job, platforming's smooth and the art is beautiful. I really love the atmosphere.

Side note/question - What were the music tracks you used for the game? I was able to find Deep Space Ballet, but haven't had any more luck for the other ones.

Assuming the names of the files are still correct, the tracks are called:
- Passing Time in an Escape Pod
- Enjoy a New Day
- Deep Space Ballad (which you already found)

Alright, thank you!

The game randomly removes all my items sometimes and its really annoying because I have to start over from the beginning. Nothing works to fix it.

This is one of my favorite web games I've ever played! Though if I had to give a complaint, the story is sorta unclear. Anyway, I love the mechanics and slipperiness that makes the game so enjoyable.

I had a great time with this one. The momentum mechanics were very well done. Thank you!

WHY WOULD YOU PUT THE JUMP BUTTON ON THE UP ARROW IN A PLATFORMER WHAT KINDA SICK PERSON DOES THAT?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!!?!?!??!?!?!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

That's normal, da heck are you talking about

One of the best itch.io games I've ever played

i love how some games in this website just more get popular depending of time of the day, like monster girl maker just plummets in popularity during the evening and goes back to right beside fnf early in the morning

Wall jump trick. This is a repost because my old video had audio.

If you check the videos on the channel I will probably end up going into some details on teleporting that can happen when you do this by wind.

The plot thickens.

I think I found something comment-worthy. If you flip the player back and forth really fast at the corner of a platform they teleport.

Question what if I somehow managed to beat the yellow and red temples without beating the blue one. Would It unlock the final area?

Just took a look at the code, because I was curious too how I had implemented that. The answer is nope.

Thanks, thanks. This makes my job harder.

It has been done. The blue temple without stasis is now a thing.

how?

Here's the video. It's a mess but the blue temple is in there also the yellow and red

Awesome! I love the cloud/other mechanics!

that cloud temple part is fricking SATAN

Agreed

Very cool game, great animation. But I feel like I've played this game before years ago on JayIsGames, can that be correct?

That's very likely, I originally released this one on Kongregate in early July 2019. It wasn't until semi-recently that I finally put all of my games here on Itch as well.

Ah I see, come to think of it, I saw it on Reddit not JayIsGames

THERE SHOULD BE A FALL DAMAGE FACTOR. I CAN FLY INTO THE GROUND AT SIXTY MILES AN HOUR AND BE FINE. ILLEGAL. It is very nice though. I love the music.

Also, that would make me feel like the checkpoints were more important.

I still haven't gotten the non-standard ending, could I have a hint?

Edit: I found it, for anyone who needs help finding either endings, here's a tutorial:

Amazing!! I beat it in one go and I might come back for the second ending.
